Sailing Away on Galveston Bay!

Last weekend the single people sailed away in Galveston Bay!  The good folks over at Lakeside sailing took us on an amazing journey and even let us steer the boat!  24 of us took over 6 ships and learned how to crew a boat!  The weather turned out nicely and luckily there were no Gilligan’s Island scenarios… We’re doing unique experiences like this every month!  So sail your ship over and join us.  We could use another fun person like you in our amazing group! Events and Adventures Houston

 

Happy 27th Birthday E&A!

Our group kind of feels like what it is to be 27 years old.  We’ve gotten those crazy early 20’s out of the way but we’ve still got room to grow and lots more to accomplish in life.  We are responsible, kind, generous and giving…but we still know how to party and have fun!  We enjoyed our largest new member meeting ever before the party got started last Saturday.  

DJ Ron kept everyone dancing all night spinning music videos and we had tons of great food and delicious brew thanks to our friends at Saint Arnold’s Brewery!  The end of summer doesn’t mean the end of fun.  We’ve got a great October planned and our Halloween Party is always  the single best party in town!

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge!

We’d like to thank The Seattle E&A club for nominating us for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.  We had over 15 people answer the call and we raised over $250 for ALS research.  While we are all busy getting ready for the big Labor Day Weekend Adventure it was great to see all the support for charity this week.  Our group here in Houston donates hundreds of hours of community service and donates thousands to great causes here in Houston and worldwide.  We’re very proud of our club and we’d like to especially thank all those who have come out and supported us this year.  We’re looking forward to our first ever volunteer event at Project C.U.R.E in September.  Space is limited so interested members should sign up as soon as possible. Events and Adventures Houston 

What Do You Do When It's Really HOT In Houston?

What a week…Unless you’ve been stuck in the vegetable room at Costco you know it’s hot outside.  When it’s this hot out we love to get wet!  After a week of amazing events that included skeet shooting & a huge softball/kickball cookout; the party barge Sunday was a welcome escape from the flames.  Flips, jumps and dives into the cool water were a fun escape from the upper deck where the wild ones were gathered.  We’ve got an August loaded with fun events topped off by the big Labor Day Adventure at the end of the month.  August is an awesome month to join Events & Adventures.  Call us to start your adventure today! Events and Adventures Houston

Loved Watching The World Cup Final Together!

I’m So Excited to Tell You All About My Adventure Last Week With E&A!

 Located in lush surroundings of east Texas, this E&A experience included a perfect trifecta of zip lining, horseback riding and camping. What a time! We had a choice to sign up for sleeping in a lovely inn but I elected to setup my tent under the beautiful Texas night sky. The inn was cozy for mingling and the small group of about 13 made making new friends easy. Now I have gone zip lining once before with E&A but this time we had opportunity to go twice over the weekend. Some of us even got to go for a night run, which was thrilling! All of the zip guides were friendly and made the experience one to remember. After a fun horseback ride we had some free time to relax by a camp fire and bond. E&A provides an opportunity to try things you may not usually do daily but the weekend excursions are where I feel the most free to be myself and make friends. Events and Adventures Houston

Come Play Volleyball!

The warm weather is back and our people are flocking to our favorite weekly volleyball spot!  If you aren’t playing volleyball these days you are missing out.  It’s a great way to mix and meet a lot of people and have a lot of fun.  We have a very fun & welcoming atmosphere at our volleyball.  No challenging people for courts or ‘roid raged former athletes running people over.  Just a bunch of people enjoying an evening outdoors!  Come check it out if you aren’t already!!

Summertime Is A Wonderful Time...

Summertime is wonderful for most but dreadful for some!  Hearing stories of your co-workers epic vacations or thrill seeking adventures while you’re not going anywhere can make you feel like the lamest person in town.  If you are feeling like the opposite of Cheers…feeling like you live in a place where no one knows your name it’s time you did something about it. 

“Great job,” “Nice work,” “You look great tonight,” are what we all love to hear.  So you don’t have to go on an epic adventure or climb a mountain to feel encouraged and appreciated.  You could do something simple like come to a painting party or learn how to serve a volleyball like a pro!  We’ve got something every day to make you feel like life was good today.  And every time you hang out with us more and more people learn to know and love your name! Events And Adventures Houston

Time To Get Wet!

We LOVE Our Rockets And All Of Our Sports Teams!

Rockets Win!  The Rockets end their season with a win against the rival San Antonio Spurs and of course we were there to witness it!  We’re all hoping for a long post season run that brings the NBA Championship back to Houston!  If you like sporting events then you should come check us out.  We just went to the Astros big opening day win and we’ve got some great seats for the Orioles game in May. VOLLEYBALL!!

The spring forward time change and the great weather couldn’t have come at a better time!  Our usual Tuesday night volleyball now should go uninterrupted by rain & snow for many, many months!  We can now finally enjoy some sun when we are playing for the first hour or so!  Our volleyball night not only attracts the players but a huge group of people just looking to socialize & enjoy the great patio!  Our venue has an entirely new look to go along with the great service we’ve come to love.  So make Tuesday night volleyball part of your schedule whether or not you want to play in the sand or enjoy the view from the deck!

A Little Rain Never Hurt Anybody!

It certainly can’t stop us from enjoying a fun Sunday afternoon together at Brazos Bend State Park!  Just a short drive outside Houston, BBSP offers fun trails, great birding and everyone’s favorite – Gator Watchin’!  The Gator’s truly run the park and a lot of times when they are on the trail you just kind of have to wait for them to move!  We’ll be exploring a lot of our favorite state parks and river resorts in the coming months so if you like the outdoors and you want to meet new people with the same interests then don’t wait another day to call us! Our First Camping Trip Of The Season!

Last weekend about 30 of our members had an amazing experience at Huntsville State Park.  Located only about an hour outside of Houston, HSP is a world away from the busy city life.  Campfires & games went late into the evening and our days were full of activity.  The park has over 7 miles of trails for hiking & biking, fishing, swimming, boating & horseback riding!  We took advantage of everything except swimming on this trip.  We all pushed ourselves and hiked the entire 6.8 mile Chinquapin Trail.  We saw Armadillo, rabbits, deer, squirrels, frogs and a diverse range of bird life.  If you missed this one you can still catch our San Marcos River trip & hang gliding adventure next month!  Don’t wait any longer, come join the fun! Events And Adventures Houston

Valentine's Party 2014 with House Of Blues!

Events & Adventures and The House of Blues launched an official partnership on Valentines Day 2014!  The place was packed and the party was jumpin’.  Over 100 singles’ found their way to the ultra VIP lounge known as The Foundation Room.  E&A members were treated to free appetizers, great drink specials and 2 of the best Dj’s in Houston to dance to.  The party started early with a poker mingle game (an E&A original mingle game) to get everyone introduced that led into one wild evening.  30 lucky winners received tickets to upcoming concerts at the House of Blues and we’ve already setup another event at this amazing location.  To join in the fun with E&A and The House of Blues give us a call and come check us out!

There Is Nothing Cooler Than Jazz!

Group Bowling Is A Blast And An E&A Favorite.

It always gets a great turnout and there is so much time to get to know people between rolls.  For us, the score doesn’t matter and you will probably get more cheers for a gutter ball than a strike!  We’re about having fun and this event is always a winner for us.  It’s also an amazing way to get to know a lot of names.  We meet so many new people that sometimes it’s hard to keep up.  Bowling is always nice because if you forget someones name all you have to do is look up at the screen!  So if you feel like you are stuck in the gutter right now look us up and come out for some fun.  We’ve got great events every day and some really great adventures planned for 2014!

Supporting Our Local Businesses!

Supporting local business is something we make a point to do and we’ve got great places and experiences in Houston!  St. Arnolds Brewery is probably the most famous local brewery in Houston.  It’s not just a normal brewery tour when you visit; it’s an experience.  You really have to go and see for yourself like our new member Shannon who said this:

Exploring Our State Parks!

Spring is the perfect time to explore all the wonderful State Parks Texas has to offer.  This month we headed west of Texas to Stephen F. Austin State Park.  It’s only a short drive from downtown but is a world away from the city.  Best known for its bike trails, SFA SP is a beautifully wooded preserve located on the Brazos River.  It’s the perfect atmosphere for your everyday backpacker or weekend warrior.  We hit all the trails in under 3 hours while stopping to enjoy the scenery at the many great overlooks & getting to know each other at rest points.  Next month is our camping trip to Huntsville State Park where we will have a weekend full of activities including hiking, horseback riding, fishing campfires and more! Events And Adventures Houston

Getting Out And Being Active In 2014!

A great end to 2013 has led to a great start in 2014!  Events have been packed and we’ve started the year off right with a couple great parties at some of our favorite venues like Howl at The Moon & Whiskey River.  We know a lot of folks wanted to get out and be active in 2014 so we’ve had a lot of fun playing tennis, volleyball & even kickboxing to start the year.  Next week is exciting with hiking trips, a painting party, archery lessons & more as well as the announcement of the February calendar of events! Events And Adventures Houston

An Amazing New Years Eve!

Talk about an amazing start to 2014!  Our New Year’s Eve party was perhaps the best ever.  We had around 90 members & 23 guests come and enjoy a night at the amazing & historic Hotel Galvez.  The hotel dates back to the early 1900’s & our roaring 20’s theme was a huge hit.  Almost everyone wore attire from the period and you really felt like you were at a fancy ball in 1920!  The champagne toast at midnight was a magical moment that we were all so thrilled to share with one another.  2014 is open to so many new adventures and possibilities.  We’re all so happy to be members of a club that opens so many doors for us.  New adventures, new experience and best of all new friends! Events And Adventures Houston!

Holiday Traditions at E&A!

One of our favorite holiday traditions is the Limousine Christmas Lights tour!  Every year we fill Party Limousines in search of the best holiday light displays in Houston.  The best way to enjoy them is on a Party Limo so you don’t have to worry about driving and you can just enjoy the show!  This year we saw the Lights in the Heights, Prestonwood Forest and enjoyed all there was to see in River Oaks.  The lights were great this year and the party on the Limo was one to remember!  Events And Adventures Houston
