The spring forward time change and the great weather couldn’t have come at a better time! Our usual Tuesday night volleyball now should go uninterrupted by rain & snow for many, many months! We can now finally enjoy some sun when we are playing for the first hour or so! Our volleyball night not only attracts the players but a huge group of people just looking to socialize & enjoy the great patio! Our venue has an entirely new look to go along with the great service we’ve come to love. It certainly can’t stop us from enjoying a fun Sunday afternoon together at Brazos Bend State Park! Just a short drive outside Houston, BBSP offers fun trails, great birding and everyone’s favorite – Gator Watchin’! The Gator’s truly run the park and a lot of times when they are on the trail you just kind of have to wait for them to move! We’ll be exploring a lot of our favorite state parks and river resorts in the coming months so if you like the outdoors and you want to meet new people with the same interests then don’t wait another day to call us! Last weekend about 30 of our members had an amazing experience at Huntsville State Park. Located only about an hour outside of Houston, HSP is a world away from the busy city life. Campfires & games went late into the evening and our days were full of activity. The park has over 7 miles of trails for hiking & biking, fishing, swimming, boating & horseback riding! We took advantage of everything except swimming on this trip. We all pushed ourselves and hiked the entire 6.8 mile Chinquapin Trail. We saw Armadillo, rabbits, deer, squirrels, frogs and a diverse range of bird life. If you missed this one you can still catch our San Marcos River trip & hang gliding adventure next month! Events & Adventures and The House of Blues launched an official partnership on Valentines Day 2014! The place was packed and the party was jumpin’. Over 100 singles’ found their way to the ultra VIP lounge known as The Foundation Room. E&A members were treated to free appetizers, great drink specials and 2 of the best Dj’s in Houston to dance to. The party started early with a poker mingle game (an E&A original mingle game) to get everyone introduced that led into one wild evening. 30 lucky winners received tickets to upcoming concerts at the House of Blues and we’ve already setup another event at this amazing location. No matter who you are or where your from there is nothing cooler than jazz! That’s why we like to visit our friends at Sambuca Rockin’ Grill as much as we can. They always setup a nice private area for us to mix and mingle and when the music starts it’s the place you want to be. It’s always a good time when you can relax in a nice atmosphere when everything is setup for you. For our members, all they have to do is arrive and all the details have been worked out. It always gets a great turnout and there is so much time to get to know people between rolls. For us, the score doesn’t matter and you will probably get more cheers for a gutter ball than a strike! We’re about having fun and this event is always a winner for us. It’s also an amazing way to get to know a lot of names. We meet so many new people that sometimes it’s hard to keep up. Bowling is always nice because if you forget someones name all you have to do is look up at the screen! So if you feel like you are stuck in the gutter right now look us up and come out for some fun. Supporting local business is something we make a point to do and we’ve got great places and experiences in Houston! St. Arnolds Brewery is probably the most famous local brewery in Houston.
