Halloween Bash and Pub Crawl!

Halloween Bash!
Pub Crawl
Halloween parties are so nice we did it twice!  One of our favorite events is themed Pub Crawls so we decided to dress up on Friday for a little fun before our big Halloween Party.  About 40 of us hit Washington Avenue in full costume and we made a splash.  We started with a free beer party at Blue Moose and end up doing the Monster Mash at Taps. Saturday night though was the main event!  90 of the single best people
of
Houston gathered at the E&A clubhouse for dancing, crystal ball reading, photo booth, food, drinks,  blackjack & prizes. We had a dance off  for Backstreet Boys tickets & the 8 foot  tall Sasquatch won the big costume   contest taking home 2 tickets to see Zedd  and a ticket to our Annual NYE Bash!

Games Night!

The beautiful fall weather in Houston has made Games Nights at the clubhouse so nice.  We can open the doors and windows and enjoy being outside for games like Giant Jenga, Bean Bag Toss, Guesstures & Flip Cup.  This past Saturday we welcomed over 30 new members to the club and played games like Cards Against Humanity, Taboo & Blackjack!  The potluck was delicious as well.  Big thanks to everyone who cooked delicious treats & brought food! A big happy birthday to Chris B!  Thanks for spending your big day partying with us!

Lights, Volleyball, Action!

Our favorite volleyball spot has added new nets & lights so we can enjoy outdoor volleyball action every Tuesday night for the rest of the year!  The heat has finally broken so even if you don’t love volleyball you will love relaxing on the patio with a cool drink.  Happy Hour is all day and you can watch your favorite channels on the new flat screen TV’s outside! So get up off the couch and join all of your E&A friends for a great night of Volleyball!

Long Weekends Are The Best!

One of my favorite times of year is the Labor Day long weekend.  The 4-day adventure always gives us a chance to form lasting friendships with our Houston folks as well as our Dallas club!  This year we enjoyed swimming, fishing, wineries, Dinosaur Valley SP, games all while spending 3 nights at Cleburne State Park.  The air conditioned facilities we reserved were perfect because the temperature outside was in the hundreds all weekend!  The spring-fed lake was really enjoyable and we were able to float and relax.  I can’t wait for our next long weekend adventure!

Season of Firsts!

This summer 39 adventurers throughout the U.S. & Canada landed in Las Vegas, Nevada for a grand adventure!  What was billed as a bucket list excursion to raft 90 miles of the one and only Grand Canyon ended up being a story of friendship and firsts.
For many this trip was a first to the Las Vegas strip, Hoover Damn, white water rafting, horseback riding, ATV riding, skeet shooting, helicopter ride, first time seeing the Milky Way & shooting stars and the first time sleeping outside under the stars in the desert!  Even a self-proclaimed adventurer like me experienced the first thrill of sitting shotgun in a helicopter diving through the canyons and speeding 30 miles per hour through a sun setting desert in a roaring ATV!
Strong bonds of friendship formed early in the trip and strengthened through shared mealtimes and river duties.  A circle of camp chairs at night became the stage for two adventurers, who had never met, to give out nightly awards and share stories of the day’s great accomplishments and comical blunders.
When we had tried every adventure and our trip was coming to a close, one member from our Vancouver club quietly asked the guides if she could experience being rescued out of the water.  She quietly, and without warning, jumped into main channel of frigid 55 degree rushing water.  Luckily I happened to have my camera out!  We quickly undocked our boats and found her enjoying the peace and quite of being alone in the middle of the Colorado River.  She didn’t appear to want to be rescued from the bliss and peacefulness of the Grand Canyon…but we never leave anyone behind because it is just a short time before our next life changing adventure…
